Chinese style omelette with bonito sauce recipe
I love omelettes - both the western variety and the Chinese styled omelettes. Well, strictly speaking, today's feature is more of a stir-fried egg recipe. This is such a great basic dish to serve with hot steamed rice and most of the time, the ingredients are probably already in your fridge/ pantry! For today, I used Yuen Chun's new bonito sauce product as pictured below (a tad sourish) to add a slight twist to this everyday favourite of ours.
I do hope you will give this a try and you will like it! This recipe is part of my Yuen Chun recipes.
Ingredients:
3 eggs, beaten well with about 2 tablespoons water and 1 teaspoon oil
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon bonito sauce (or substitute with regular soy sauce)
1/2 onion, sliced
1/2 cup dried turnip, rinsed and cubed
Method:
Firstly, heat up wok until almost smoking. Add 3 tablespoons oil and swirl to coat. Turn heat to low and add onions and turnip. Turn heat to high. Fry till fragrant. Add in eggs and turn frequently to mix everything together. I like my eggs to be fully cooked but the doneness is up to you.
Add the sauce and salt. Serve hot with steamed rice.
