KOREAN MUSIC: Solo Singers' Rendering of SHINee Songs
Tonight (or last night?) in Korea (04/06/2012), Shin Yong Jae (신용재) of “Four Men” sang SHINee’s “Sherlock” on KBS’s “Yoo Hee-Yeol’s Sketch Book.” His performance featured Korea’s legendary guitarist Ham Choon Ho (함춘호) along with the show's host Yoo Hee-Yeol (유희열) himself. And last year (03/25/2011), Korean pop diva Insuni (인순이), at age 54, performed her rendition of SHINee’s “Ring Ding Dong.” (FYI, she did the entire chorus of Hyun Jin Young’s 1993 song, “Dugeundugeun kungkung” (두근두근 쿵쿵,“Pit-a-pat, Pit-a-pat, Boom, Boom!”) at age 36. Of course, her voice was younger, brighter yet still deep, and full of energy. Clickto listen.)
I really, really enjoyed watching them; especially, Insuni impressed me so much with her undying energy, love of performing, true passion for dance, and of course, her superb singing. Insuni, my hats off to her! Hope you enjoy the show too!
