Steamed Fish with Fresh Black Beans and Chili Peppers Recipe
I love steamed fish! It's one of my favourite ways of cooking and eating fish ever. Today's feature is a very simple home-styled dish which we just love. You can use a piece of fish fillet like I did or just use whole fish. I would prefer to use white fleshed fish for this recipe as well. Fish is steamed separately then the sauce is cooked and poured over right before serving!
This post is part of my Yuen Chun Recipes.
1 piece of fish fillet (I used 'ma you')
6 stalk green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon fresh black beans (chopped up)
2 slices of ginger, slivered
3 cloves garlic, minced
3-4 red chili peppers, sliced (remove seeds for less heat)
1 tablespoon light soy sauce or to taste (I used Yuen Chun's)
Method:
Firstly, place the fish on a steaming dish. Steam it on high heat until fully cooked. Remove from wok or steamer and discard liquid. Set fish on serving dish.
Next, heat up your wok until almost smoking. Add 3 tablespoons cooking oil and swirl to coat. Turn heat to low. Add garlic, black beans, chilis. Fry till aromatic. Add the soy sauce. Finally turn off the heat and add in the green onions. Pour the sauce on top of steamed fish. Serve hot.
