Shabu Shabu at Home!

Who like to light and delightful dinner at home but not too much work?!
I'm about to introduce you guys a perfect dish that will fit in you right now!
Shabu Shabu!

Vegetables, proteins, broth and sauces are all you need to prepare, which is takes up to 30 minutes!!
YAY~!! :-D
You serve everything raw with hot broth that still simmers on the table.
You don't have to cook anything, your guests will cook it by themselves.
All the dipping ingredients can be all up to you, just make sure everything is thinly cut, so it will cook in seconds.
Here is the ingredients I prepared this time.
Some Sliced onion, crown daisy, garlic chive....
Enoki mushrooms, brown beech mushrooms(Shimeji mushrooms), and shiitake mushrooms
I prepared chicken breast, shrimp and...

Beef! This is how thin you want. It should be paper thin, so it will cook as soon as it hits the hot broth.
You can buy meat like this from store of you can cut it at home which is I did.
Before cut it you need to freeze the meat for an hour or two, so it will be a lot easier to cut thinly.

Next is sauce!
You can make only 1 sauce, or 3 sauces like I did!
I like to have options. lol :-)
Oh, and of course, you can use any bottled sauce that you bought from store! Some of 'em are really good!!

I made sweet one, spicy one and creamy one!

For sweet sauce, I combined....
3 Tablespoons Sempio's Hyangshin Sauce (You can use oyster sauce, hoisin sauce or sweet soy sauce)
1 Tablespoon lime juice
1 Tablespoon honey

It is sweet, refreshing and so good! Great for kids or who doesn't do spicy! :-)

For spicy sauce, I combined....
1/4 cup Sempio's Hot Chili Hyangshin Sauce (You can use oyster sauce, hoisin sauce or sweet soy sauce and chili oil mixture)
1 Tablespoon sambal (Chili garlic sauce)
1/2 teaspoon sriracha
1 teaspoon sesame oil

Very very spicy! Which is very good! lol
If you like spicy food, you gonna love this sauce with shabushabu!

For cream sauce, I combined....
1 Tablespoon Tahini (Sesame paste. You can use peanut butter instead)
2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
1 Tablespoon honey
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
3 Tablespoons dashi sock(I used instant dashi stock powder with water. Short cut!)
A pinch of sesame seeds and black pepper

OH-SO YUMMY!!
This was our favorite..!! We were mixing with spicy sauce and this creamy sauce, ah! Creamy and spicy so good!!!

There are so many various kinds of sauce that you can create so be creative!!!
Make sauces like a boss!!

I made broth with water, rice wine, dasima(dried seaweed or konbu), a couple slices of white radish(Moo or daikon) and 2 cloves garlic.
You can be very creative about the broth too.
The broth I made this time is the basic of basic. You can add dried anchovy and dried shrimp for more flavor. Or you can use chicken stock, beef stock, veg stock from store or homemade.
You can make spicy by adding some chili sauce and chili oil. So be creative!! Make yours!!
That's the beauty of home cooking, make yours!!

Oh, and the cooktop is from my parent's in-law's gift! We are so loving it! We can set the temp we want, don't even have to worry about reduce or increase the heat while we are enjoying the meal! Also very safe to use indoor, and no gas!! YAY!
But the thing is we can't use our Korean grill pan because it needs the special pans and pots.

We started cooking vegetables first.
But..... to be honest with you all, I don't have picture after this till the end of the meal. lol
We were so busy eating it!! lol I guess it means it was delicious I even forgot to take pictures! lol
Anyways, however you eat, doesn't matter. Just eat it all and then to the left over broth, you can add noodles or rice to finish up the meal.
You will be pretty full, but there is no starch, so it's not really fill you up though.
But the noodles or rice is totally up to you. We were pretty full so we decided to eat mung bean noodles, which is less calories and not much filling. lol

Yeah, yeah~ give me some noodles~ :-D

Oh, don't forget to crack an egg!

YAY!
We enjoyed SO-MUCH!!
It was SO-GOOD, almost feel bad that we didn't share with other people. lol
I know it might looks very hard to prepare this dish, but I really want you to try this at home, because it is so much entertaining and easy and no time to prepared!
Asian at Home! Easy and Fun, right?!

I hope you guys try sometime soon, and tell me what you think!
Thank you!!

XOXO
