Easy Apple Danish
I'm not much of a donut fan but I love danishes! Here is a
super simple shortcut to a delicious apple danish. I first
saw these little babies over at The Country Cook and knew
I had to try them over the Christmas break. My family
loved them! You can use any flavor of pie filling. I'm trying
cherry next time!
1 can Apple Pie Filling
2 tbsp. butter, melted
Cinnamon/Sugar mixture
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3-4 tsp. milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
You start with two pillsbury crescent triangles with the
seams pinched shut. Then you sprinkle with cinnamon
sugar and roll up starting at the long end. Next you coil
the dough like you a making a pot in pottery class.
Open your can of apple pie filling and run a knife
through it a few times to chop up your apples a little.
After making a dent or well in the center of your coils
place a tablespoon or two of apples in it. Top with a
little more cinnamon/sugar mixture and bake.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes or until golden
brown.
When slightly cool drizzle on the powdered sugar
glaze.
warm out of the oven with a steaming cup of coffee.
It begs the question.......Does an apple a day keep the
doctor away? I don't know in this case but it's worth a
try!
