Pesto/Hamburger White Pizza with Garlic Sauteed Spinach and Mushrooms


I enjoy coming up with new pizzas for my family and this one is really delicious!  It's got all my favorite things.......pesto, alfredo, garlic, mushrooms and cheese!   I tried to make a fast weeknight version of a spinach alfredo pizza and tried to add as much flavor as I could along the way. 

Jim loved the hamburger pesto mixture I added.  He said that he couldn't quite tell that it was hamburger because all the pesto goodness had melted into the meat. By sauteing both the spinach and the mushrooms in garlic butter before adding them to the pizza......well....you can imagine, right?  Right!  Garlicky, Pesto-y goodness! Oh my!

1 pkg/2 Prepared Pizza Crusts
1 lb. hamburger meat
Prepared pesto
1 (10 oz) bag fresh Spinach
1 (16 oz) large mushrooms, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced (divided)
2 tbsp. butter (divided)
Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Parmesan cheese, shredded
Classico Alfredo Sauce

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Makes two pizzas

Heat a skillet and spray with non-stick cooking spray.   Cook
hamburger and 1 clove of minced garlic in skillet until meat
is brown.  Add enough pesto to coat meat (about 4 or 5
tablespoons) and mix well.  Put hamburger mixture on a
plate and set aside.

In the same skillet add 1 tbsp. of butter to the skillet and
add the mushrooms and 1 clove of minced garlic to the pan. 
Cook until done and drain off liquid.  Put mushrooms on a
plate and set aside.

In the same pan add 1 tbsp. of butter to the skillet and add
the spinach to the pan.  Cook until spinach and 1 clove of
minced garlic to the pan.  Cook until spinach is wilted and
drain off liquid.

Place some alfredo sauce on prepared pizza crust until
bottom is well covered.  Next add mozzarella cheese, top
with hamburger/pesto mixture then the spinach and lastly
the mushrooms.  Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Repeat for 2nd Pizza.

Reduce heat to 425 and bake approx. 10 – 15 minutes or until crusts brown.



With my boys off at the dorms we had a whole pizza leftover!  I know what I'm taking for  breakfast tomorrow......  I can't help it....cold pizza is my FAVORITE breakfast food and hot pizza at breakfast....well it would just be wrong, wouldn't it.
