Hong Kong: Bao la
HONG KONG
This is going to be my last live post from Hong Kong because I'm checking out of my hotel today so won't have access to wi-fi for a few hours as I eventually make my way back home to the Bay Area.
It's been an exhausting but enjoyable trip with lovely weather, the chance to reconnect with relatives and, of course, a lot of food. The title of this post is "bao la," which are the words for "full" or in my case "stuffed." And for me, it hasn't just been full of interesting delicacies (oh, so much noodles) but full of the sights and sounds of this bustling city, more hectic and grittier than New York and maybe even London.
But like all those big cities, I could have been overwhelmed by everything. Instead, I survived and hopefully thrived. Instead of letting Hong Kong eat me alive, I ate it.
When I'm back home, I'll put in more thoughtful posts to recap my eating adventures, and like I've done in the past with past travel posts, I'll post them on Mondays and Tuesdays to mix them in with my regular posts because I'm sure there's a lot happening in the Bay Area. So check back Monday for my series from Hong Kong. Until then, here are a few photos of some of my favorite bites to whet your appetite. Enjoy!
